Labour ComplianceThe Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) (BoPTER) on May 21, 2026, issued a notification regarding the request to provide Accommodation and Travel Support for Apprentices under the NATS Scheme.

The following has been stated:-

•All establishments registered under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) are requested to provide adequate accommodation and travel support to their apprentices.

•The board encourages companies to arrange shared transportation and reasonably priced lodging to help apprentices overcome logistical and financial challenges, thereby improving retention, morale, and overall productivity.

•Additionally, following a high-level ministry meeting held on March 18, 2026, establishments are strictly urged to closely monitor, track, and immediately fill any apprenticeship positions that become vacant or are prematurely terminated.

•Ultimately, these collaborative measures aim to facilitate full compliance with Section 30(1)(1A) of the Apprenticeship Act while ensuring the optimal utilization and long-term sustainability of the NATS program.
